West Barnstable : Located in the middle of historic Cape Cod, West Barnstable, Barnstable Village and Marstons Mills are three of seven villages that make up the community of Barnstable. Both West Barnstable and Barnstable Village have retained much of their Colonial old world charm. They provide one of the most beautiful and historic stretches along Old King's Highway, Route 6A. Restored sea captains' homes, cranberry bogs, great salt marshes, Barnstable Harbor, Cape Cod Bay and Sandy Neck Beach are just a few of the interesting sites. Both West Barnstable and Barnstable Village are located on the north side of the Cape. West Barnstable is primarily residential and also includes Sandy Neck Barrier Beach. Barnstable Village houses the County Complex, a small business district and a working harbor and several small beaches. Inland is the residential village of Marstons Mills located on Route 28. Although it has no oceanfront, it does boast several beautiful ponds and lakes. A select few condominiums and townhouses in the area can be found for as low $50,000 and range up to $350,000 and more. Single-family homes start at under $100,000 and run as high as $5 million and more for large estate properties, many with spectacular views of the bay, ocean and sound.
